I believe that with my
past experiences including skills accumulated, (see attached supplements)
coupled with what I have learnt over the last two years will be of great
benefit to Family Housing.
Although I am more
than happy in my role as a caretaker, because it satisfies my main gaol in
employment, which is physical exercise (mens sana mens corpora) I now feel I
need more stimulus in the mental sense.
I would love to be
able to develop a database for all the sites that we service, including all the
beds, shrubs etc that we have to maintain. Which will obviously be a basis on
which to plan a schedule to maintain our sites to a higher standard. This would
not affect my duties as part of a team, because it would be a team effort
identifying the sites and types of shrubs trees or plants contained. I would
collate the information in my own time, which I am happy to do, because, since
I had to give up the computing degree a year ago, because of being in
employment, I need to have something significant to do in the evenings.
I am able to dissect
the Rota and make it more efficient.
I feel I do not have
to elaborate on working well as part of a team, because even when I was an
employer myself, the courier cleaning the tent for the next holidaymaker or the
labourer mixing the compo for the plastering was as important,(if not more)
than I may have thought I was, because If they did a bad job, I could be out of
a job!
Working unsupervised?
Most of my life I have, ( if there is such a state, because we nearly always
have to answer to someone: customers, tenants etc…)
Relevant horticultural
experience. In the two years I have been employed, I have bought various books
(The Lawn Expert, Complete Book of Gardening, Perennial Flowers for small
gardens, etc…) I have numerous Cuttings from the “Times” Gardening
sections. I have also purchased “The
ultimate 3D Garden Designer” a DVD for the computer which includes over 3,700
plants in a fully searchable Database.
I do not intend moving
from Exchange Court because:

I am available
for my children to call after school for help with their schoolwork.

I am also a
member of Swansea Yacht Club, where my children are part of the “Quackers”
(Optimist sailing)

evening classes for local elderly

Why should the
Carmarthen Supervisor have to reside in Carmarthenshire?
Although Pontardulais is
in Swansea!
Assuming I had the
Post and stayed at Exchange Court.
You would have to find
a resident caretaker for Pontardulais, I believe this would be a great deal
easier than finding a caretaker for Exchange.
I would travel to
Llanelli to link up, which makes more sense than Brian Williams travelling to
Llanelli or Pontardulais (in his own vehicle). BW would then be based in
Swansea.
Although Swansea based
I am from Ammanford so have an obvious empathy with that areas tenants.
Residing in a Block of
flats I am not susceptible to weather conditions, so am much more flexible
where weather conditions dictate, and are able to help out on the sites where
they are susceptible.
